A wonderful surprise this wine Still very dark in color The nose is powerful and all about rich black cherries On the palate the wine is rich, round dark fruit with some fine, slightly spicy tannins suggesting at least several more excellent years ahead of it. The finish is persistent The best wine of perhaps a dozen I've had from this producer over the years

P&P as part of a 2013 horizontal of the single vineyard blends (Apogee, Perigee, Ferguson). This was my favorite of the 3, showing outstanding flavors right from the pop. Black cherry, fig, tobacco, dark chocolate, oak and cola flavors. Drink now - 2028.

Having a glass from a newly opened bottle at the L’Ecole Heritage tasting room. Slightly lighter in body to the same vintage Apogee and seems like lower acid, but tannins are becoming more evident the longer we sit here. Medium finish. Probably a decent match for roasted pork with seasoning or pan sauce.

So, Spectator has this wrong (86). One hour decant. V - clear deep ruby with medium meniscus and high viscosity. N - Not fully expressive but clear cherry, blackberry and black currant, although the oak and salami nose comes first, with a whiff of olive and some smokiness. P - Fruit more prominent on the palate, with oak less complex primarily vanilla, cocoa and just a hint of smoke. S - Med+ body, med acidity, fine med+ tannins. Med+ length and complexity. Certainly not a star of a wine but pretty good nonetheless. Drink or hold for a few more years.

Comprised of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec.
Decanted for 40 minutes and probably could have used more due to its young age. New World style of the Red cherry and dark fruits are forward but the flavors of fruits and spices are well mingled.
Mouth coating and full bodied the wine displays its fruits, spices and herbal flavors very well and this should evolve even further in the next several years.

Dark garnet hue. Dark berry, oak nose initially. After a while, the wood nose blew off. Pinot-like nose thereafter-- black raspberry, dark strawberry. 14.5 alc. Smooth mouthfeel, dark berries, a little leather, velvety, plum, still too early to open. Should be terrific in years to come. Nice wine.

Love the complexity and structure on this wine. Not what I would expect from Washington State. Most definitely built in a Boredeaux style and structure, but still very much new world in fruit. Blackberry, cassis, anise spice, etc... I will buy this wine again as it stood out tonight. Will probably get better with a little more time in bottle.

Such restrained beauty at the decade mark. I think the cab component of this gives it easily another 5 yrs. Among L’Ecole’s best.

Really soft and silky but plenty of structure. This blend has aged really well. Looking forward to my 2015s.

Saturated very dark red violet color; tart plum, loam nose; delicious, poised, tart plum, loam palate with lively balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot) 93+ points
