Dry with mainly lime fruit but with spicy notes. Fresh and aromatic with quite forward grapefruit (lip-smacking) acidity but good balance. The small proportion of Traminer adds richness and floral character. The typical 'petrol' characteristics of Aussie Riesling have not yet developed but are likely to do so over the next 5-10 years. A food wine but more attractive than some earlier vintages (such as the 2010) IMO. Tasted with Sam Stephens, EU Brand Ambassador for Penfolds, at Grand Union Wine Society.

In between the German and the Alsace style; a fresh nose, a firm backbone with ripe acidity and a good balance.
