2013 Codorníu Cava Gran Cremant Brut

Community Tasting Notes

Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 85.5 points

  • Lemon colour, plentiful fine bead in the glass. Mild floral aroma. Surprisingly low acidity and restrained mousse. Cleaner than most cavas I've had, but a little lacking in depth. More like a prosecco; acceptable. A touch of bubblegum/banana/guava after a while. [Cork + cage; 11.5% abv; Scotmid (Co-op), reduced to clear at £5].

  • Very good all rounder and even better if you buy 4 they are £6.15 each at the Co-operative instead of the normal price of £9.99. offer on until 5th April 2016.
Appearance: Very pale straw colour. Fine bubbles slowly drifting to the surface.
Nose: is dominated by citron fruity aromas typical of traditional varieties for Cava.
Palate: Refreshing lemony background flavors, well balanced harmonious taste.
Opinion: well worth a try after a long hard day at the office.
