slightly wrong temp but enjoyed over two nights with roast chicken and then a speckled trout.... the wine has some sweetness but is also crushed eggshells dry, darkening color but still lots to go. Sandra approved.

91 Estupendo vino, muy personal. Amarillo dorado. Nariz de talco, flores, poco intenso. En boca es magnífico, se crece a cada momento. Muy equilibrado, untuoso sin ser pesado. Buena acidez y una nota de amargor muy rica. Mucha personalidad. En un momento magnífico.

After multiple disappointing showngs of the '14 Choisilles, this is a breath of fresh air. The color is pale yellow and it shows as it should: a tad saline, almost dry, with typical Chenin fruit and vivid acidity. Just great with salmon off the grill.

Golden delicious apple, pear and a waxy almost woodsy element. Spice and candies ginger. Decent acidity. Nothing complex, in fact it’s pretty straightforward. But maybe the best thing I can say about this wine is that it’s not premox’d!

I can’t remember ever being disappointed by a wine from Chidaine. Despite the many concerns expressed about this vintage at Chidaine, today’s bottle was perfectly sound, with no sign of premature oxidation. I’ve been drinking some of these from the cellar in the light of the concerns of others and, while this is certainly ready to drink, from my experience so far I’ve not sensed any urgency. A pale colour, lighter and less viscous than some of Chidaine wines, but flavoursome, and with plenty of minerality. Quite long. I’m not getting much residual sugar despite this generally being more of a demi-sec cuvee (12 g/l in 2014). The 2009 Tuffeaux, for example, comes across as much sweeter and richer (Les Tuffeaux has 17 g/l in 2009, 14 in 2014). This is very good wine, good body, rounded and with the classic chenin bitterness on the back of the tongue.

This is the perfect white wine balance for me... sweet an savoury....nose of sea salt and crushed shells, taste of apple hints of honey, herbs with a long silky finish....not oak neutral a warm full mouthfeel. Yum!

I liked this. While nobody is going to confuse it for Mosel Riesling, I found it fresh and salty, and not the least bit fat or flabby. It was also, like the Tuffeaux, drier than I expected; had I drank it blind, I would have thought it to be one of the sec cuvees. It actually seems less rich than the Tuffeaux despite its placement in the sweetness hierarchy. I found myself thinking a little more sweetness (enough to make it noticeable) would have benefited this wine. Not running out to buy more of this cuvee, but very enjoyable.

Decent fruit, but a bit shallow depth-wise, slightly flabby and fat, lacking acidity to give this its expected fireworks. Finishes with a bit of minerality, but overall somewhat disappointing. Lacks complexity and interest.
