Opened and decanted at an Italian Steakhouse with my wine group. I had forgotten I had this bottle. We all loved it. I don't think it will be worthwhile to hold my remaining bottles any longer, as I don't see it improving. The fruit is definitely fading, and the spices are beginning to take over.

The wine had a little tartness to it and not as vibrant as I remembered. There are certainly a few more years ahead of it but anticipate a different experience than when the wine was younger. Still, a very nice wine with smooth tannins, dark fruit and a medium finish.

Nose: getting some cherry and strawberry Taste: some raisin and light fruit tones with cab franc giving it some glue to pull it together. A nice finish.

Had this with chorizo stuffed garlic peppercorn pork tenderloin. It paired quite well. At first opening this was completely disjointed, tannic, little fruit coming through, but after 2 hours of decant was really quite good. Tannins smoothed out, fruit came out. Definitely more Bordeauxish than new world. I wouldn't drink this without pairing with food -- it really seems to come alive much more than many other wines. I think it needs a few more years. Approachable now after 1 to 3 hours of decanting.

Dark cherry (more sour than ripe), cracked white pepper, cured meats/olives, cedar. Medium finish. Tannins are fine enough. Kept some for day 2, but it declined.
Fun blend, but not sure the QPR factor was there. I would aim to drink these soon. We decanted a bit, but not sure that is necessary.

Beautiful, powerful bouquet initially. Decanted for 1/2 hour and enjoyed over next 2 hours. Lots of sour cherries, strawberry, some darker flavors. Medium to full bodied. (For me) very astringent. Wondered if tis wasattempting an old-world style, but expected considerably more for $60(!)

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Sue's): Double blind. The last flight isn't starting any better- at first this smells like an uncooked hot dog. Dark fruit and spice notes emerge with air. Nice fruit on the palate; black fruit, vanilla and brown sugar flavors with a medium finish.

Garnet/ruby in the glass..Dark, opaque, bright color. Nose of cedar, cherry wood, red fruits, damp cellar. Med + body, slightly tannic and hot, med + finish. Bright red fruits, olives, white pepper (spice), strawberry jam, some greens (merlot), hint of oak present. Long finish. Day 2 more blue fruit, spice and dried fruits revealed. 64% cab, 19% merlot, 17% cab franc.

Both bottles had a musty note and flawed. Puchased from online wine auction website. Caveat emptor.
