Rich and buttery on the palate, with lush tropical fruits from start to lingering finish. Multiple years between drinking bottles, and it still is aging in a lovely manner.

Really enjoyed this. Had no expectations and given the style was worried it could be past the prime window. Totally wrong. Rich and intense tropical fruit bites but great acidity and balance to keep it interesting. Drink up currently at the peak. Day two started to slow down.

Pleasant citrusy start with a buttery finish. Goes well with Redfish Veracruz. I also enjoyed it with crispy ginger snaps over the course of a few days.
Holds up well and gets more mellow when consumed over two to three days.
Pleasant way to watch the sun set on a warm day on the back patio.

Toasted croissant, vanilla, almond and melon on a rich nose. A heavyweight body with dense fruit somewhat overshadowed by layers of oak and butter. Long finish. Could last for many more years.

Always a bit of a popcorn butter bomb, but the wood Lewis uses seems to be of decent quality and doesn't overly distract from the beautifully pure core fruit, which seems to be able to stand up to the cooperage. The vanilla and toast elements add to the unctuous mouthfeel of the wine, with a really nice viscosity that is always signature Lewis. Lemon curd, citrus oil, vanilla bean, and toasty oak all come cascading from the glass. A true palate-enveloping experience.
So why isn't it a 100 point Chardonnay? It lacks minerality or potential grass notes. I don't get any pear or apple; mainly lemon citrus oil, but almost thicker, like olive oil. It feels fat and viscous (which can be fine), but the frame at times seemed faltered. It is a BIG California Chardonnay. But anyone who knows anything about Lewis realizes this going into it. They are always unabashedly bold. It also comes off a bit heavy, especially when attempting to pair with food.
Ideally, this is a stand-alone sipper when you're out on the deck kicking back under the Spring sunshine. It would pummel fresh seafood and play Mike Tyson with vegetable or light chicken dishes. Instead, maybe try a white sauce three cheese pizza (use big stinky cheeses!) or gnaw on some fat a** French fries with it...or maybe a slab of deep fried baby alpaca...??
This a California style Chard--creamy and bold, lovely peach and fig flavors, with a long finish. This wine may still be available to purchase and is worth seeking.

Exhilarating fresh cut Rome apples leap from the glass. Interplay of creme brulee, brioche, and mace. Wonderful fabric of stone fruit and baking spices. Silky butterscotch wave on the dynamic citrus laced finish - HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bruce & Anne Marie Bday Dinner - Pearl District Westlake Village

A sexy example of Chardonnay. Tropical fruit, nutmeg, coconut, and lemon meringue pie. The creaminess on the finish is very signature of Lewis Chard. No Montrachet, but still delicious.

Very oaky nose. Sure enough, a pretty heavy-on-the-vanilla wine. Some tropical fruit flavor and, maybe, a hint of lemon. Some slate/mineral flavors mid-palate. Probably a wine that many would appreciate, but I would like to see, at least, see some acid tartness to bring some excitement.

Nice and light. Good citrus taste on front end with a buttery finish on the backend.
Goes well with fish Vera Cruz. I did enjoy eating crispy ginger snaps with it also.
Does really well over two to three days if taking your time consuming the bottle.

Drank with Maria, who really enjoyed this. Big lush, buttery chardonnay with tropical fruit and light citrus notes...as new world as it gets.

This is slightly oxidized. Really disappointing because the storage was perfect. I'm drinking it anyway.

92-95: it's Lewis, it's big, buttery, there's oak, but it's fairly well balanced, long finish. It's unapologetically Napa, intense and round. Excellent.

My second bottle of this wine. Same impressions as in my previous posted tasting note. Excellent and delicious in all respects.

Not as impressive as I expected. Still a nice chard but there equal or better at lower price point eg. Rombauer.
