  • Day 2, would characterize as lighter bodied old world style merlot, strawberries and sour cherry with a few more vegetal notes and acid than I detected on Day 1. This wine is still quite young and could develop nicely over time, but I stand by my rating and don't believe the QPR is worth it.

  • Bought this on recommendation of wine clerk to compare to Petrolo Galatrona of same vintage and grape (merlot). Day 1) Not bad, but not stellar. In the glass clear purple to the rim, some legs hinting at 14% alcohol. Nose surprisingly muted and one dimensional (too young perhaps), some black fruits, cherry jam, a little candy, a few whiffs of flowers the longer it aired. Good bite of tannins straight away in the mouth, 30 sec finish, sweet dark fruit, vanilla, licorice?, faint touch of earthiness (olives) on end. Better in the mouth than the nose. Not a fruit bomb but a more restrained and elegant wine. Don't believe 2012 or region was a tremendously difficult vintage, but I did read a quote from owner of Feudi that he wasn't totally happy. One random note - the bottle is very heavy. Hopefully they didn't overspend on marketing and put their money inside the bottle instead. On Day 1 not worth the $160 Cdn I paid.
