Rich and ripe Pinot. Not Anderson Valley-esque, that's for sure. Yes, this is ripe and pleasing, low acidity, not really what I look for in Pinot, even more so than typical RRV Pinot that is also on the ripe side. Very good Pinot if you like the style. For me, I'd score this 86 - 88.

  • A rich, luscious wine by Pinot standards, though keeps its character, doesn't cross the line into syrupy vagueness. Very coherent personality from nose to finish - no distracting twists or turns. Clearly great fruit, clearly some expensive barrels (surprised to hear it's only a minority of new oak), clearly solid winemaking. Drinking well now - while it's possible some more distinctive Anderson Valley will emerge with a few years, now's as good a time as any to jump in.
