The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
Course, rustic, Dark fruit. One of my favorites

Decanted three hours, enjoyed over 3. Beefy, bloody, salty, minerally, ripe fruit, black pepper. Blends new world ripeness with old world structure wonderfully.

Syrah Night (Byfield, MA): Color ruby opaque. Nose of dark fruits, spice, cedar, smoke. Palate was full of black currants, licorice and a hint of smoke. Tannins well integrated with a medium finish. Very smooth and enjoyable.

100% syrah from vines planted in 1947, yielding around 30 hl/ha. 30% of the wine is aged for 18 months in vats, and 70% in French barriques, 25% of which is new oak. A very elegant, full nose. On the palate, this has really good concentration and power, though it’s also very tannic. A surprisingly elegant finish. Very Good/Very Good Indeed.

Full body. Dark and dried fruits, some smoke and chocolate. Very good drinking right now. Make sure you decant for 2 hours. Enjoy!
