Good but not as powerful as most Howell Mountain bottles I have tried. Opens with black and blue fruit with secondary notes of white pepper and clove. Nicely balanced, medium body and finish.

PnP. Aromas of ripe plums, black cherries, dark chocolate, coffee and bark. Palate is rich with chocolate, coffee, dark cherries, earth, bark. Ripe. Big. Viscous. No overt heat or obtrusive oak. Just not my style but can see many really enjoying this.

This is the second bottle. Drinking wonderfully but can still age some to calm down the alcohol and tannins slightly. Complex nose with dark berry. Balanced tannins and fruit at the moment. Even better then the first bottle.

Served blind Deep purple black Bright blackberry fruit, huge structure Thick tannins with a fruit driven feel. More impressive than delicious. Had to be big mountain Napa fruit. Hold.

Wow! This is one powerful wine. Decanted - needs a good 8 hours open. Typical Howell Mountain fruit, depth, texture. Shrubs, cherry, baking spices, other than a touch of heat late in the finish, there are very few flaws. Patience....time will tell here.

This is absolutely humming right now. Patience pays off. All these Lede’s I’ve had at about 10-12 years are phenomenal.

Nice balance between fruit and tannins, good length, acidity. Red and black fruits with a bit of bramble, damp earth. Drank well on the PnP

Typical big, burly Howell Mountain cab. Easily 8-10 years left.
