This pinot needed 15-20 minutes to open in in the glass but presented a savory nose when first opened and continuing through 2 glasses. Just got better and better over 2 hours, rich fairly full bodied for a pinot but not over the top by any means. A big surprise in it's mouth feel and fairly long finish, wish i had more.

Opened and served immediately. Dark garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking. Nose of saddle soap, black berries and raspberries. Also a bit of dustiness. Flavors of berries and raspberries. Medium to tart acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Kind of in an awkward stage right now so I'm not sure whether to recommend holding longer or not.

The 05 Witness Tree Vintage Select Pinot Noir was a medium dark fuchsia. The nose was concentrated black cherries, blackberries (perhaps the Himalaya bblackberries that choke the roads in this area), flower, and a little bit of cacao with milk. In the mouth this was a medium or fuller bodied wine that filled the mouth with sweet red cherry flavours, citrus and fruit salad flavours with lots of good structure and balance. An excellent wine from this region. 50+5+12+16+7=90

Tasted June 16, 2007 at the winery. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue with some slight dustiness towards the base. Nose of black cherries, black berries and spices. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and some raspberry on the finish. Light to medium acidity, moderate to integrated tannins, medium body. Can probably be drank now with about an hour in the decanter to start or continue to hold. 13.4% alcohol.

No formal notes. It is still a ways from its peak as it is still tasting young and lively.
