Amazingly energetic! This gem was already in the prime drinking window. Everything was so balanced. You can find chocolate and earthiness in the nose, and licorice, chocolate, blue fruits, and dry herbs on the palate. The lasting was not a long long one but good enough. This art piece can easily shadow other big names including big names in Bordeaux or any other places.

this was dark and brooding, and maybe had a taint to it?? wasn't unpleasant per se but not as good as before and as I was expecting... bigger with a little off-oomph to it

Popped and poured with escargot and Chateaubriand. At first soft and approachable, very light tannin and not much acid. Developed over two hours and some bolder fruit emerged. I suggest a one-hour decant if you want to get right to the peak, but it does develop interestingly if you want to pop and pour. I hate when the last sip is the best!

decanted in the AM for two hours and back in bottle, had with dinner, this was edgy at first, big wine -- in other words lots of material, acid, some tannin -- not big in the sense of over-extracted, deep cherries, big acid, secondary flavors kicking in, a big mouthfull of flavor but elegant mouthfeel, I am thinking this wine needs 5-7 years of further sleep, having now on night two and same thing... age is critical here, and if it keeps / adds a slight touch of sweetness to balance the acidity then it will be 95 pts easy

A nice whiff of cassis on the nose. I decanted for a good two hours. This wine is elegant and layered with some spicy red fruit and forest floor up front. The finish is long and smooth. Very good.

A little heat upon opening but still amazing. Did my usual 2 hour decant, back in bottle, back in storage over night at 55 degrees. Upon reopening it seemed like it had lost something, but after 30minutes it just kept getting better and better. I was very sad when we finished the bottle. Lots of fruit, great long finish. Very smooth. Ready to drink now and still has some time to improve.

No decant- Which is the way I would drink this wine because it evolves from start to finish
Nose of blackberry, black current, charcoal, black licorice chocolate covered cherries, light white pepper, and crushed nuts or seeds. At the end of the bottle I also got a little plum
Med to full body, great mid palate confirming the nose
Conclusion: Wine Starts Subtle building up more and more to a big fruit and tannin finish. Great complexity and balance, Most would think this is a 2001-2006 still huge tannin and fruit.
This will last another 10+ years- One of the top 5 red wines I have ever had.

Delicious, concentrated wine. Not much tannic structure left in this bottle but good nonetheless.
