Good California Cab, no decant complex nose of cassis, cherries, blueberries, mulberries, licorice and herbs. Palate has sweet rich tannins, black and blue fruit and long mouth-coating finish

Brought by Garth to our kickoff summer party, double decanted prior to arrival. My WOTN. Great fruit, heft, intensity, and minerality, for me an ideal CA cab. Thanks, Garth for brining this!

Proud to be the first since JSMORRIS to review this one in a while. Enjoyed over three days. Dense, ripe and pure fruit. LPV is one of my favorites. Great fruit and well-made. Some might be turned away by the mint and graphite notes. Can seem mildly green at times but thats just the acid and isnt noticeable when you pair the wine.

Drank at Lenoir dinner, several people called it WOTN, a creamy, smooth feel full of dark berry, coffee, licorice and exotic spice. Drinking very well right now.

Oakville more Options4/1/2017 - I LIKE THIS WINE: 95 points (Edit) Outstanding Calif. Cab. Loads of black fruit on the nose but plenty of other elements as well. Tobacco, mocha, spice, licorice all show up and blend with the fruit to make a delicious melange from the nose through the long finish. Most of those tasting tonight preferred this cuveè over the also fantastic 2008 Continuum although I gave a very slight edge to the Tim Mondavi effort. The 15.1 ABV was well under control and did not detract from the overall experience. This wine has many years of development left so there is no rush to drink it unless you can't help yourself. This note was originally mislabeled as a 2009 To Kalon. Sorry!

Decanted 5 hours. Texturally a nightmare with an overly viscous, chalky and syrupy body. Chalky blackberry, espresso, aged leather, and viscous artificial cherry syrup. Began to separate and disjoin the more it sat in the decanter. Not sure what's going on here.

Never developed much an hour after opening. Dense, tight tannins kept the nice dark fruit flavors from showing their potential. My least favorite of the PH Beckstoffers.

I had this on April Fool's, but this wine is no joke! Decanted at a restaurant and allowed to breathe for about 30 minutes before starting to drink it. While it continued to evolve and get better over the course of the dinner (90 minutes) it was drinking great right away. The only thing keeping it from a higher score, was the finish. I thought it a touch short for anything above a 95. Remarkably well balanced and it is in a very good place right now. I tend to like CA cabs in the 5 to 10 year old range.

Dark fruits, bittersweet chocolate, cassis -- unmistakably California Cabernet -- but without the excessive alcohol and overly concentrated nature of so many other high-end California Cabernets. This wine is bright and elegant. Bravo.

The wine looks Inky colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Vanilla, Toast, and Alcohol/Hot. It tastes like Prune, Light toast, Oak, and Vanilla and some licorice. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Silky texture. The wine finishes Long.

Full bodied with big fruit to balance tannins and just enough acid. All tied together with excellent integration and firm backbone. PDQ95
