As middle-of-the-road as can be, this five-grape blend rosé simply is not committed to any particular style, and suffers for it. A mish-mash of generically blended grape varieties, this wine also has a quite low acid level, leaving it flat and unexciting on the palate. In addition, both nose and palate feature a prototypical oxidized note suggesting that this is over-the-hill. Quite surprising, given that I quite like this winery's other rosé, the excellent and dedicated Vin Gris de Cigare. Cest la vie!

Drank over the course of about a week. Pretty decent actually, agree that it gets much better after the first day (first day tastes too much like the white zinfandel copmponent). Solid if unexciting rose.

This stuff is good. Curiously, it seemed to develop more complexity after having been opened and placed in a refrigerator for several weeks. Rating is a gut one on this second bottle.

Light pink to salmon in color with a rather tight nose. Strawberry and grapefruit zest on the palette. Not overly complex but absolutely nothing offensive about this rosé.

Not extremely complicated, but nicely balanced. good acid plays off against summer fruit: strawberries, watermelon. Stood up well to complex food; good match with chicken tagine and roast eggplant.

Cost $9. Screw-top. Relatively light pink colour. Good strong acid in the flavour. Fruitier than most other rosés. Delicious accompaniment to paella made with spicy Castillian Chorizo and real Murcian rice. Some good aftertaste and some length in the finish. Good.
Per labels: Alcohol 13% by volume. A blend of Sangiovese, Barbera, Zinfandel, Carignane and Mourvèdre. www.bighousewines.com

Pleasing and non-complicated. Earthy tones with some crisp acidity. Faint strawberry beyond the earth notes.
