  • Winetasting @romaintaupenot #taupenotmerme #moreysaintdenis 2014 this is drinking superbly a lovely balance between red fruits and forest floor. Palate has red plums, cherry, strawberries and raspberries with a gentle acidity and oak spice and is, to be frank, bloody lovely

@domaine_michel_lafarge #volnay #vendagesselectionees 2014 very young with some grippy tannins, but plenty of fruit to make it accessible now, but I'm laying the other 5 bottles for 10 years.

@domaine_de_l_arlot #nuitstgeorges 2013. Just starting to hit its stride. Dark red fruits and some earthiness. Smooth tannins and lots of fruit, in a few years this will be stunning

@frommwinery #cuveeh 2015. Their first vintage of this new cuvée and what a delicious wine. A little smokiness, savoury red cherry and a little soy sauce. A touch lighter than the burgundies but a beautifully balanced wine and certainly has a few more years to develop

@feltonroad #calvert 2017 An absolute wonderful nose of red cherry, spicey cloves, a little smoke. This is such a lovely drinking wine right now a real delight for a #pinotlover

  • A mélange of red and dark fruit with some dusty gravel notes. Classic, bone dry, minimal tannins, midweight, moderate acidity.

  • Lovely floral smell. Freaking love the smell. Fruit and tannins both present but it drank smoothly on day 1 for such a young wine. Clearly it has much more to go in the cellar and will continue to improve.

I opened this since I found a deal on some Taupenot GCs. Wanted to evaluate their village wines first. Wish I had more of these.

  • De Chambolle à Morey - Grands Jours de Bourgogne: Slightly, brief note. Both red and black fruit with rounder textures vs the Chambolle. Better overall with good length and a nicely persistent finish. Good+ for its level.
