This was great as expected! 1hr+ decant. Lovely dark red/purple color. Classic Napa sweetness on the nose and palate. More oak than I expected but we’ll integrated. Anise and dark fruit throughout with subtle hints of chocolate and vanilla. Medium depth and finish. Awesome!

Father's Day with Dad. Had alongside the 2012 for comparison. Definitely liked them both but I preferred the 2012 over the 2013 as it feels more prime time. The '13 is showing signs that it can definitely outperform the '12 but it needs more time in the bottle...a little different that my Quintessa vertical tasting experience last week where the '12 was dull and the '13 was more vibrant. Can't wait to open others in a few years!

You’re looking for richness? This is where you find richness. The fruit just tumbles out of the bag in forms of blackberries, plum and ripe strawberry. Hints of eucalyptus, cedar and dark chocolate. If you were holding a workshop and you needed to present a New World Cab, this would be your go-to wine. Thick and chewy, a rich nectar begging never to be swallowed. Prominent tones of that velvety French oak on the aftertaste in forms of cinnamon buns and cream. Could use a bit of a punch on the finish.

At Josephine's in Nashville, we decanted and let sit for an hour, dark fruit on the nose, the palate was plum, berries, red meat, chocolate and a touch of cedar. The finish was long and smooth. An excellent bottle of wine served with the main course of braised rabbit.

Expect this score to improve but unlike the 2012 I don't think this will yield its pleasure for a while. Concentrated and tightly knit at this point but holds plenty of promise. Leave for a year before trying again while you continue to drink your 2012s

Opened Friday, finished the following Thursday. Faded when we finished the bottle but excellent bouquet upon first opening, and not overpowering.

Has clearly improved with some bottle time...well balanced, with fruit forward but good balance of tannins and acidity. Delicious
