  • Last bottle at Saquella restaurant, Hilton Panama City, Marbella. Loving the age and depth of Chilean and Argentine bottles we’re finding in Panama. Very dark with garnet hues. Big nose of chalk, iron, blueberry, blackberry, raisin (good way), and a stem/dry tart note. Palate is rich and layered, oak, red and dark fruits. Vibrancy of acid that I couldnt place. At dessert with a maracuya (passion fruit) coconut cake I was able to figure it out… the acid is maracuya-like, dry and stemy. Savory, ripe and aged goodness overall. Even earthy coffee in finish. Nice aged wine strutted its stuff over 90 minutes with bottle decant. Cannot comment if longer decant is beneficial, wine seemed consistent throughout.

  • Nice red blend. Cabernet sauvignon, camenere, and carignan. Decanted for an hour but still tight. Can definitely use a few more years in the cellar.
