Over a year since I last tried a bottle and it may have lost a step or two but it is still a really good bottle of wine. Opened and let sit for two hours while I prepared dinner. The nose was all fruit. The palate was dark cherry, a little raspberry, plums and hints of spice. The finish was long. I served it with a seared salmon and the seasoning on the salmon might have had an effect on the scoring of the wine.

Dropping nicely into perfect drinking window, this food-friendly wine slid across the palate and a five-course Mediterranean tasting menu with smooth cherry/raspberry, red plum and glycerin notes. Perfectly matched with a peppery jidori chicken. Drink now-2025.

So much of Paul Hobbs Pinot Noir offerings are outstanding. Always fresh, full of very pleasant aromas and equally soft grapes with little tannins. This Ulises Valdez vineyard is still rinking very well after 6 years.

Absolutely brilliant - Opened and let sit for two hours while I prepared dinner. The nose was all fruit. The palate was dark cherry, plums and hints of clove. The finish was long. Very happy to have a bunch more in the cellar.

This is one of the best Pinots I have ever had. Cherry and strawberry are front and center on the palate with a silky lush mouth feel. It is a great wine in a perfect place at six years in. So glad I have one more.

Purchased/consumed after hearing of Ulises Valdez's passing. PnP. Cloudy ruby burgundy color. Nose candied cherry, light cola, kirsch; intense. Palate initially some vanilla, then intense black cherries, some baking spice and cola, good bright cherry acidity. Opens up a lot with time, decanting recommended. Very nice, definitely fruit forward but has the acidity/structure to give it some more stuffing. 93 pts. RIP UV...
This floral and layered Pinot is drinking well right now, with a nice mix of power and grace. Cherry red in color, medium in body, nose of raspberry, cranberry, and gravel. Lovely tastes of dried strawberry, pomegranate, and menthol, with a brambly and lingering finish. 14.4% alcohol. This strikes an impressive balance between ripeness and elegance - one of the first Hobbs wines that seems truly unique. It should be even better in a year. 93-94.

Dark red damson plum, long finish fading to raspberry, but not as elegant or refined as other bottles.

Such a great food wine, this well-rounded wine showed touches of ripe red berry, cedar and cola notes. Drink now thru 2024.
