The bronze salmon color looks for all the world like a liquid of pale rose statuary. A nose of mostly watermelon and strawberry might not seem like much. But the palate is bigger and broader with watermelon, framboise, mineral and a certain creaminess on the mouthfeel that makes this my go to rosé. Its versatility, dryness and mouthfeel makes for a most satisfying pour on a hot, humid day. 13.5% alc. Assorted cheeses and Batali salumi. Highly Recommended.

Much the same as my note in June 2007. This is drinking beautifully right now. A wonderful rosé. The first with the Tinselys, Sheets and Smileys. The second with the Dortons and Kite while watching the Indy (Stewart won.) 07.19 and 07.29 of 2007. Highly Recommended.

Salmon color. Floral nose with strawberry, but rather herbal palate with more raspberry than strawberry. Really just a back drop to a picnic at Barboursville ruins on Father’s Day while making our way to Montpelier. With roast turkey, apple and brie (me), BLT with loads of smoked applewood bacon (PMB - then we switched sandwiches) and poached salmon (DDB - best pairing). Recommended.

A bronze pink that is deeper and richer looking than the Chester Gap. A fresh, clean nose of strawberry and herbs; strawberry scents and distinct strawberry flavors. Perhaps some raspberry sneaking in. Great acidity. Full of lip-smacking enjoyment. 13,5% alc. Served both with app and with dinner, the wine is somewhat lost in the meal’s flavors of rib racks (pork) with sides of cole slaw and sauteed sugar snap peas, but is absolutely fun with the apps and simply by itself. 05.26.07. Recommended .

First, this is a wonderful rosé. That said, it lacks the creaminess and delicacy of the ‘04. Loads of strawberry with some raspberry coming in after it. Good acidity and crispness from attack to finish. For a rosé it even has some depth to it. But it’s the finish where this wine really falters in comparison to the ‘04. A bitter almond flavor presents on the end of the finish. This wine has some tannic kick, for a rosé anyway. Perhaps it just needs some time, for it is a bigger wine than the ‘04. But just now, I cannot say it’s a better wine. 13.5% alc. With a delectable dish of grilled shrimp (from the latest Cook’s Illustrated over a bow-tie pasta and arugula salad.

Part of pinks and pinot party. A huge strawberry flavor that is bright, crisp and pure. A stunningly good rosé.
