Very sweet raspberries, but there is also some tobacco and leather. More medium than full bodied, this accompanied a spicy Indian Curry nicely. For itself it's too sweet, but the pairing worked. Drink this now. 15/20

Decero and Errazuriz winery visit; 1/26/2017-2/5/2017 (Argentina and Chile): previously, 'single vineyard.' now a blend of a couple of sites. subtle and nuanced aromas. Alto isn't a reference to altitude, but rather that it's more inland (not Costa) and also then closer to the mountains and a little higher in elevation. 3000cs production. shows more mineral than the 2015 Max, more elegant spice aromas, a charming careener, 100% Carmenere, 35% new French for 12 months.

Dark ruby. Intense aromatics with red cherry and raspberry, quite pronounce herbal scents and some cedar notes too. Fresh in the mid palate with bright acidity, medium tannic structure, more fruit than herbs and long finish. Generally Carmenere is not one of my preferable varieties but this is a good wine. 90-91
