Pale garnet color. Complex aromas of cherry, fig, tar, potting soil, menthol, anise and white pepper. Satin texture, medium-full bodied, but a bit thin on the palate. Flavors of sour cherry, rose and plum, with a nice dustiness. Firm muscular tannins.

Found this in my cellar from a purchase in 2017 and thought I'd see how it's doing at the 8 year mark. Gave 3h air, which made it drinkable but this definitely needs time or more air to show its true colors. Pale garnet color. Very earthy on the nose with notes of cherry, fig, moss, tar, white pepper, anise, menthol and crushed gravel. Dusty and earthy on the palate also: red fruit, menthol, mossy, with spicy notes and a smoky sweetness in the lingering finish. Medium-full bodied, with muscular tannins that need more time to resolve, integrate and lose their rough edges.
Hold on for 2-3 more years before you pull this out, and it has the depth to survive another decade beyond that.

Medium nose is lightly floral, herbs, general red fruit, could use complexity or time. Palate shows red fruit, dried red cherry, fresh tomato, dusty earth, light cedar, tannins high and typical, drive the structure and finish. Needs food, but good example of type and solid entry level offering.

Fruit, vegetable garden and barnyard on the nose. Fleshy, thick core. Long, chewy finish. Textural fun all the way through.

Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont - 2016 Edition; 10/21/2016-10/23/2016 (Piedmont, Italy): Bright and fresh, straight forward well made Barbaresco. Medium to light bodied, does exactly what it promises and is very enjoyable for that. Drink sooner than later . 87-88
