I opened after opening and dumping a tired 2005 Chianti Classico. I was surprised how nice Passione was....and then looked at what I paid for it. WOW. Nice. I would drink now though

What a difference a couple of years makes. This has softened up very nicely, and is now a lovely, simple Tuscan-style wine. Sorry we drank the other bottles so early!

I see the plumminess but not the heat. I like the way the finish smoothed out after the initial bite. Easily worth the $10 I paid, to go with tonight’s pasta and homemade tomato sauce. I was looking for something a little primitive anyway.

The winery girlz like this. Balanced tannins, smooth and more of a good food wine than a fruity sipper. We served it with a mild gumbo dish and a simple vegetable and fresh mozzarella side plate and rosemary bread. This wine delivers well above the price point around $10.

Notable residual sugar and vanilla, with a slightly hot finish obliterate any sense of place. This could be from anywhere. Not why I buy an inexpensive Italian wine. I expect something dry, slightly earthy, with no vanilla. Might as well be Yellowtail.

Quite sweet up front, while dry and possessing a powerful cranberry tartness on the finish. These disparate elements together are intriguing, and yet also out of harmony, creating a wine that seems pulled in two directions and unsure of what it wants to be.

Friends, this is at Costco (Chicago area) for $8.99 and it's a great buy at this price. This would make a nice party wine, accessible and likeable. This is a light and fruity, easy drinking wine. Delicious to drink right now. The winemaker's description is here http://bit.ly/2f6Vg8u It's 60% merlot and 40% corvina and is made with the appassimento technique in which the grapes are partially dried before fermentation like an Amarone. It has nowhere near the body and power of an Amarone but they did get quite a bit of flavor out of these grapes.

Nice and complex. Noticeable cherry on the mouth. Goes well with pizza :). Better on the 17-18C

Gift from the Clappers at dinner.
Much richer than a Chianti
They got this at Outlet Liquor

Perfectly fine for a $10 bottle of wine. Very plummy. Heat was not a problem for me.

Totally "made". This is an industrial wood-flavoured fruit juice beverage. Sad.

Hints of leather, coffee, plum, cherry and vanilla. 2015 maybe as great as 2010 vintages.
