The nose was dark and massive in it’s attack of intense red fruit, spice and minerals. On the palate however, I was treated to soft textures with a velvety feel as ripe black cherry was kept fresh by a lovely core of zesty acidity. Balance was key here, and the Brunate carried that in spades, even going into it’s long finish of dried cherry, minerals and spice.
