still a little woody and tannic, but much of the fruit is gone. A little disappointing. Fruit on the nose that disappears in the mouth. Very short finish.
so, after waiting a few hours with wine in the glass, the tannin have faded. The wine has some nice fruit and good acidity. Nice bright cherry fruit. I upgraded the score from 85 to 88

Directly from the cellars at cal pla and labeled for us. Opened an hr early but just kept on getting better. No signs of cracking at all- still some tannin but likely at its peak now. I believe a mix of garnatxa Negra, carinyena, cab sauv- so the blending adds nuance and complexity.aged a year or more in French oak.a real treat and as noted needed at least an hr decant and airing and just keep Improving

Not quite as stinky as I remember. And more fruity and earthy in a tied together way. Some RS almost like feeling on the palate. Some rasination here or in the vineyard. But workable, likable and all there. With grilled foods.

Unfortunately a decant was not possible as this was consumed at a colleague's house for Thanksgiving dinner. For me this was a clear illustration of how a lovely wine can be shortchanged when it is not given enough air to shine. P&P, color a beautiful garnet, medium body, clear from rim to core. Swirling the best I could in the globe goblet, a reticent nose of fresh cherries and a little earth. Elegant and smooth, with a velvety mouthfeel and longish finish of around 25 seconds. Spouse made a special point during dinner to say how much she enjoyed it.

Oak and mint with a hint of barnyard on the nose. Pepper and spice on the on the palate. Very smooth and silky thought the midpalate entering into a long moderately tannic finish.

Unbelievable for the price; reserved nose but a very long finish; fantastically soft tannins with a rich mid-palate that fills a chocolately though mildly earthy chewiness. Very drinkable right now despite its age, will only get better.

Nice deep purplish red - presumably grenache. Quite fresh oaky, raisiny nose, some nice cherry fruit. Good firm structure on the palate with nice ripe but not overnlown plum fruit. Again slight bitterness on a good lengthy finish, but overall very nice. 3

A tough of cigar box, tar and dark berries. Smooth, perfectly balanced with a lovely hint of tannins. Beautiful and in perfect shape.

A pleasant lighter bodied red with spice and a deceptively long finish.

Smells like the stinky earth that I expect from Mas d'en Compte. Nice quickness across the mid palate. Tasty.

Drank at dinner at Panolivo in Paso Robles. No real notes, but this wine was excellent. Gotta get some of the 04 vintage.
