Coravan glasses several times over the last week, these notes are after popping the cork to drain the bottle.
Not decanted, from syrah stems. Meaty nose with dark cherries and earth, this is still very dry with fruit only in the far background. Still some time to see how this integrates, but glad to still have a few more bottles of this great value that punches beyond its price.

Notes are 45 minutes after coravin’ing a healthy glass.Poured into syrah stems. There’s a little meat and earth on the nose. Fruit is in the background, and wine crosses the palate with dry, dusty tannins. This could easily pass as a Cabernet.
Curious to see how the balance of this opens up later tonight or on another day, but it should pair well with tonight’s cherry and maple glazed pork chops

Decanted, allowed to breathe for 45 mins then followed over 90 mins in standard syrah stems.
Fine sediment throughout. Lush coating; mouthfeel rich with plum, black cherry, leather and cigar. No rush at all here, and I’d guess there’s still a few more years to peak.

Decanted for about an hour and it was enjoyable although still quite tannic. More fruit emerged beyond an hour and particularly the next evening. Still a massive wine. The color is literally black with just some purple highlights. Flavors are similar with blackberries and earth. I would love to try an older vintage and see how it softens. Fun style of wine at a nice price point.

Pores Lake black ink, and opens up nicely within 45 minutes. At 90 minutes the nose remains constrained, but the flavors come across as a nice Rhône blend. A bit dry back-palate but theres plenty of dark fruit, crushed stone and graphite, yet the finish is soft, supple and elegant.
This is increasingly one of our favorite QPR‘s, along the Quilceda red blend. Nice job Bob and Kelly!
