  • Bottle off the wine list over lunch at Sushi Jin.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, bright ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral violets, citrus, earth, schist and granitic stones minerality, red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, lovely high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), low tannins, medium- body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of crunchy sweet red cherries, raspberries, some black cherries, schist and granite minerality, earth, bits of sweet herb. Medium+ finish.
Very good quality. Not as dark and intense as Cote du Py versions of Morgon. This is more elegant and gentle. Nice expression of minerality and terroir. Can still develop over the next 3-4 years also.
Les Charmes is part of the 6 distinct climats in Morgon - Les Micouds, Corcelette, Douby, Les Grands Cras, Les Charmes and the most famous “Cote du Py”.
