Very forward and ripe fruit, mostly peach and almost tropical to start, which made me double check to see if this was an '06 or '05. But the middle and finish started showing more texture and energy, particularly with more air. My 2nd consecutive very good Maltroye 2005, after a 3 bottle run of oxidized bottles. I'd still recommend drinking as soon as possible.

Showing quite a bit of oxidation, but not undrinkable. Notes of gingerbread and butter cookie on the nose. The fruit on the palate was pretty flat and the acidity stuck out a bit too much.

Above the Grandes Ruchottes level, with more elegance, a more subtle vanilla and slightly more body. The second wine on my Xmas dinner, absolutely defeated by the almost perfect Puligny Les Folatières 1989. Still a lovely wine that has some potential, shown the day after when the last drops gave more of what to come. Followed by the Branaire '52, the Lynch-Bages '89 and the Croft '6o, this wine 'stood'.
