Blinding. The wine is so powerful but so balanced, with an incredible array of complexity. The more I drink northern Rhone, the more I appreciate the importance of balance and this is a really good example of what an art it is. I only had a small glass (not my bottle) but I’m now on the hunt for this - I’m sure it’ll be spectacular given a few years.

Wow, this is inky in color, with just as much depth in flavor to match. The nose shows crushed rocks, smoke and dark, black fruits. On the palate, the wine is incredibly full-bodied, rich and intense, with a hint of saltiness to the tannins. Even with all this power, the wine is balanced, fresh and refined. The best since 2003, and it is probably even better. It will age for decades effortlessly.

Lovely tannins, dense fruit and a bit wild
