In a great place right now. Lemon zest, white flowers, white peach, melon, apricot and a lot of wet stone/river rocks. Very mineral driven and overall a "stony" Riesling. Medium bodied with nice ripping acidity.
Had it with Thai Green Chicken curry, which was a great pairing!

Knoll is still my favorite of the Wachau producers. I think the longer elevage gives the wines a deep, serious quality. Then you add the exuberant fruit of 2015 on top and all the spindly fractious meadow notes. Plenty off depth and structure. Will probably age as long as you want it to. I think it'll be at its apex in a few years.

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): I liked this more than the Schuett; I found this a much more complete wine, with more fruit components on the palate, that helped counterbalance the high acids here. There is a little bit of a citric component to this wine that I quite enjoyed.

Lots of power here. I'd give this a couple of years to integrate more fully, but it is drinking pretty well right out of the bottle. Acid almost becomes more intense with air.

A private lunch (Restaurant Käfer-Schänke, Munich, Germany): Effortless balance between ripe peachy fruit and juicy acidity, seamless and silky, floral and refined, concentrated but nothing in excess, fresh and elegant, perfect weight (13.5% ABV), so at ease with itself, "ruht in sich", ever so subtle bitters, excellent length. This is a thing of sheer beauty.

Beautiful nose with white peach, apricot, and intense minerality.
While I understand it’s late harvest, the acidity wasn’t there. Felt a bit fat, even for smaragd.
