Retail $30. Under cork. I bought three bottles of this wine from Last Bottle Wines almost four years ago and I have been thrilled. It comes from perhaps the most renowned vineyard in Paso. Similar notes, but I am going to bump it up a notch. 92 Points.
Really liked this wine - big burly nose of cedar, earth, and blackberry. Palate shows what I think are the best parts of Zin - spicy, earthy, black fruit without that raisinated taste. I didn't pick up the heat others noticed, in fact, I thought this wine was really well balanced. Not sure it's fully mature. Very good.

Whoo this is hot at 15.8% alcohol. The alcohol dominated the nose and the finish. It’s also surprisingly acidic for its alcohol level, even for a zin. Mouthfeel was ok and pleasant if unremarkable on the mid palate, but the finish was a mix of cough syrup / purple drank, some nasty fruit punch I drank in undergrad and sugar. Too much alcohol and acid. Gross!
Recommend avoiding, after a couple of sips i poured the rest down the drain.

Not sure I’m 4.1 here. We paid $16. I get the black tea on the nose but more than that, I get the smell of Easter egg dye! Which is to say alcohol and WOW! Look at that...15.8!! Can’t imagine the brix when they pulled these...26+? Massive jammy alcohol...softer than blackberry moonshine, but headed in that direction. All that said, I’m enjoying it with a mushroomy chicken Marsala with fusilli. My wife likes big reds but scrunched up her nose here...hoping she leaves the rest to me. :)

Medium bodied, great acidity and drinkability for a high alcohol (15.8%) zin. Red fruits are strawberry and pomegranate. Dark fruits maybe blueberry and boysenberry, white pepper, toast, milk chocolate, chili.

Popped and poured. Cork snapped in half and the initial impression here was extremely mature, with a lot of cedar and a green, herbal quality. I was a little concerned. But after some air, some dark fruit and faint varietal spice emerges and this takes an elegant turn. It’s a different zin experience but I enjoyed it.

Retail $30. Just a few months ago, I had written an article about Paso Robles Zinfandel in which the Benito Dusi Vineyard figured prominently. Thus, when I saw this pop up on Last Bottle, I grabbed a few bottles even though I was not familiar at all with the producer. Dark in the glass, really dark, with dark berry fruit (blackberry, cassis), a bit herbal (mint, sage), and plenty of gravitas. Over the course of the last decade or so, I have been fortunate to try more than a few Zins with a bit of age on it and this ranks high--it is lovely. thedrunkencyclist.com

Nice expression of a Paso Zin with some age on it. Medium ruby hint of garnet developing at the edges, nose is moderate with dark fruits, alcohol is a bit hot, palate is dry and pronounced, fruits are dried, kirsch, black currant, dried berry, note of anise and pepper, body is medium +, acidity is medium, finish is long and lingers.
