($15) Deeply colored. The nose on this wine is a little unusual. In addition to black fruit and a hint of olives, there is a strong suggestion of hickory and worcesthire sauce. The mouthfeel is a little strange because the wine seems very plush and thick, like lots of chunky fruit is in your mouth, but at the midpalate the wine turns high-toned and lighter. Okay.

The wine shows a deep dark red color with mild translucence with an attractive sweet nose of ripe prunes. A smooth attack and delicious and fruit-laden mid palate give way to a long and tasty finish. The wine is full-bodied. Charming, delicious and a great bargain in California wine at $14 per bottle. I am buying more!

Nice fruit and no oxidation. The tannins are largely gone and there is a lot of sediment. Very pleasurable drink for 17-year-old Santa Barbara wine.

Tasted blind. Overripe and pruney - a berry punch fruit bomb; no acidity. Sweet finish.

Kitty’s: Pretty rustic and sour-y. Good pizza wine maybe.
