Drinking well at eight years. Decanted and enjoyed with baked chicken, macaroni and cheese and a garden salad. Starting to show some complex nuance; juicy raspberry, ripe strawberry, and spicy cherry, underscored with chunky, black earth; structure still prevalent; and finishes strong. Drink or hold through 2026.

Dark red fruit is complimented by underbrush, peat moss and Mediterranean spice. This wine although light in weight has similar characteristics to a mid-weight Priorat. Elegant yes, but has some intellectual characteristics that keeps you going back to the glass for another taste.

Red fruit,Christmas spice with a touch of dried mushrooms and underbrush on the finish. Medium weight with elegance o the palate. The nose is exciting, intellectual and enjoyable. This has really improved since my last tasting. Good juice.

A mesmerizing blend of sweet and savory elements, moving effortlessly between cherry, cranberry and cinnamon to notes of lavender and rosemary blossom. On the palate, warm, spicy flavors of molasses and Mexican hot chocolate mingle with red fruit and rich tannins and concludes with a deep, lingering finish.

Red fruits with a fine grain of minerality running across the palate. Not revealing much aromatically and a bit tight on the palate. Good acidity. I think it just needs another year or two in the cellar.

Last stop on day one in Sonoma was at Patz & Hall Winery. First red wine is their Pinot Noir from the Moses-Hall Vineyard which is on the Napa side of Carneros.
Ruby red core with bricking on the edges. Elegant and ripe nose with notes of rose petals, jasmine and ripe raspberries. Tangy acidity on the palate (7/10) and medium bodied. Good amount of spices on the palate with some candied raspberries, strawberries and a touch metallic too in the medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2026.

Decanted for 45 minutes. Drinking nicely now, but should hold up for years to come. Lots of red fruit, medium bodied and good acidity.
