Much better with food than by itself, as there's still too much wood influence, which creates a certain bitterness in the wine. As with the first bottle 4 years ago, I suspect that letting the remainder of the bottle sit in the fridge for a few days will help. Otherwise, nice apple, citrus, and flower aspects, with a touch of coconut.

Very nice expression, vibrant golden color, pretty nose, very clean and focused with pure just-ripe fruit, some flintiness to it and an odd but refreshing white balsamic tang, nice finish.

Bourgogne and Village Dinner (Tonny Restaurant, Geylang Lor 3, Singapore): This was a lovely little Bourgogne blanc, really punching above its weight. It had a lovely nose with lots of saline, chalky, minerally notes laced though a core of white fruit and some subtle white florals. Nice. The palate was soft, round and creamy, with a simple but yummy white fruited presentation on the attack and midpalate, punctuated with more of that saline minerality and a soupçon of spice on the finish. There was nice balance and delineation when we served it properly chilled, but it did drop a bit and felt a little flatter when the temperature warmed up to room temperature. Nevertheless though, this was very good for a Bourgogne - this was a credit to both its maker and the lovely 2014 white Burg vintage. Drinking well now, especially with food.

OK with food, but way too much oak for a white Burg, or any Chardonnay for that matter.
About five days later, after having the remaining portion of the bottle sitting in the frig on argon, it was much better. The oak component was largely gone, but the apple notes persisted. Would now score it 88-90, but not really the way to drink Chardonnay. Plan to adjust my drinking window, as I think that this might be better mannered in 3-5 years.

Opened not decanted and served chilled. Quite an improvement since my last tasting. Fuller, richer, rounder and sweeter. Very enjoyable drinker. Good to Very Good.

This wine seems to have shut down quite a bit. I would now hold it for a while if you have it. Either that, or it just lost some of the luster I originally found so compelling about it. Hopefully the former!

Very good potential but nearly unapproachable at this stage (2017-12-22). Reticent nose, very tightly wound flavors, disjointed oak influence, lots of heat on the finish, but the fruit is pure and the finish is very long. Opened up and offered some enjoyment after three days in the fridge. Hold for a year or two and try again.

For under $19, this is my best Chardonnay find of the year so far. It drinks like $40+ village Meursault and is just stupidly delicious. I bought some of the 2015, which is meant to be a little more amped up, after tasting this first bottle of the 2014s.

Delicious, especially for $18.... Light citrus on the nose and palate, followed by crisp acidity. This wine has a clean, pure style that I enjoy tremendously. Served with roasted salmon with herb butter, roast potatoes, and fresh asparagus from the garden. I drank the Domaine Dussort Vielle Vignes the night before and enjoyed it, but this is a definite step up in quality. Kudos to John Rimmerman.

Pulled from the cellar at ambient temp. Would show better chilled. Similar note as before, but picking up some charred oak this time in the far background. Medium weight in body with some spiciness from the heat. Ends with a fatty viscous lemon lime finish. Fair to Good.

Opened not decanted and served chilled. Slight sour and off putting entry of yellow fruit. Light weight in body; high acid, sour citrus, notes of over ripe fruit. Ends with a spicy and tangy finish with some heat. Fair to good.
Getting better after being opened. Upgraded to Good.

Outstanding white Burgundy from a tiny producer based in Meursault. From their 6.5 hectares of land, half goes into the Bourgogne Blancs, both of which they are incredibly proud of. The Cuvee des Ormes is produced from vines aged 35 to 60 years and the house style is based on elegant, mineral, terroir driven wines that really over deliver for the money. The grapes were picked early, fermented using natural yeasts in old oak barrels, and then aged on their lees in a mix of new and old oak for 12 months. The result is a sleek, classy white with delicate citrus and tropical fruit, lovely texture, firm acidity and minerality, and wonderful poise and balance. It's long, delicious and satisfying and, whilst drinking beautifully now, will age happily for 4-6 years. Given where they are and how it tastes, this is relatively a bargain.

Too many weeks ago to remember, but do remember it being beautiful. Still racy but rounded and voluptuous. All for the price of a village bourgogne.
Wish I had more.

Wonderful French burgundy punching way above it's pay grade. Comes from region where merseult is produced and I wouldn't doubt it!

Buttercup yellow; quiet bouquet, simple, an attractive vegetal note; buttery, soft, plump; tangy finish. Drink soon.

Moderate oak influence evident on nose and palate.
Medium length, fruit more to the citrus end of the scale, acidity nicely balanced with cream and oak
