This took about an hour to open up in the decanter and was lovely with seared NY Strips. Medium and supple in build and texture. Good acidic frame and soft tannins, overall very well balanced and integrated. Concentrated red berries with voluptuous black fruit, including plums, blackberries, and blackcurrant. Some savory coffee, tobacco, mint, and dried leather notes extend into the finish. Drink 2023-2026. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Pleasant medium bodied cab. Red berry, soft tannins, still firm acidity. Not distinctive, not worth this price. Was better when released, lost its depth of flavor.

PnP right from the cellar. Certainly more expressive with air and warmth, but refined and enjoyable first sip to last. Lovely wine that didn't last before dinner was ready.

Tasted from magnum at the winery, this is a deep ruby blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.7% Merlot, 5.8% Petit Verdot; 1.2% Malbec and 0.3% Cabernet Franc, aged in a combination of French (94%) and American (6%) oak. All of the new oak (which comprised 45% of the barrels) was French. Offering a fruit-driven core of of cassis, blackberries and dark plums, it incorporates complimentary notes of anise, baking spices, dark chocolate and tobacco, all wrapped with velvety tannins. Medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic and with well-integrated alcohol (13.8%), it has good mid-palate density and a judicious aliquot of wood. Finishing medium-to-long, this has the structure to age gracefully. Drink now-2034.

Pop and pour…a little flat. But very nice and easy for a Monday night. Didn’t really open too much after three hours. Not bad, just not much to write home about.

Good but not great. Lots of dense cab flavor, moderate tannin structure, a little oak, dark fruit profile. Not highly focused but a pleasant wine with a rib steak. Wouldn’t buy at this price level again

Thought this was good. Restrained with a nice finish. Not the most complex but very nice. Still has some nice fruit. Would definitely drink now. We had some the next day and it felt over oxygenated with the fruit turning a little sweet and a little ripe. Don't think it will do much better in the bottle.

I had better memories of this wine when I first had it a couple years ago which made me buy 3 bottles. I had then thought it a rich full bodied cab, but this time it is medium bodied, without much acidity nor tannin structure. Red fruit seemed diminished. Maybe my palette was off?

with 14% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 12 months in 45% new French and American. Medium plus nose gives chocolate, espresso, red flowers. Palate shows black and red fruits, smooth style with medium body. Very approachable, nice example of Sonoma style.

Much better than I remember it. A solid effort in a slightly old world style. Some mineral, damp soil, and tobacco already showing. Tight tannin but decent finish.

A deep-to-opaque ruby blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.7% Merlot, 5.8% Petit Verdot; 1.2% Malbec and 0.3% Cabernet Franc, Jordan's 2014 Cab is a seductive red wine that, despite its young age, has no rough edges. Packed with black currant, blackberry and dark plum fruit, it weaves in notes of anise, allspice, violets, dark chocolate and pipe tobacco, all wrapped with silky tannins. Medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic and with well-integrated alcohol (13.8%), it has excellent mid-palate density and just the right amount of complimentary oak. Finishing with good length, this is a hedonistic wine that is already drinking beautifully. Notwithstanding its early appeal, the structure is in place for it to gracefully reach its 20th birthday. Drink now-2034.

Drank remaining half bottle. First half initially consumed with Coravin. Coravin preserves this very well! Soft with barely noticeable tannins. Definitely drinkable alone but great paired with basic pasta. Probably overwhelmed by big grilled meats. Almost tastes delicate now and certainly refined but definitely not wimpy or unnuanced like a cheap cab. Maybe as a result of “decant” time after Coravin?

United Club BTG. Lean black cherry with good energy and balance. Perhaps better in another year as tannins soften a little more, but certainly very good now.

Frankly, disappointed and doesn’t have that appeal that earlier Jordan Cabernets had? Modest, cherryish aromas and flavors. Yes, an elegant style, but without some of the herbal, leafy charm that was it’s hallmark. Widely distributed and perhaps that maybe the underlying problem. I read an excellent review of the 2015 and will give that vintage a try.

By-the-glass at the United Club. Lean style for Cali Cab-based wine, this has an intriguing Bordeaux-styled elegance with rich black plum and cherry, along with hints of cassis. Better than the 2013.
