No notes taken, decant as it needs opening up, Medium ruby, red fruits, underbrush/farmyard on the nose. Dry, medium-medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannin, medium alcohol (@13% abv) and medium-medium(+) body. Layered palate with soft red fruit, undertone of tar, mocha, spice. Beautifully balanced with pleasantly gripping tannin providing tension in the finish.

Good colour and a nose that developed red fruits, a little spice, and just aa trace of 'farmyard' in the glass with time. Soft red fruit on the palate with decent acidity and some spice. An OK but really pretty ordinary Pinot that didn't light my fire. There is better, more complex and interesting PN available from other areas at this price.

Pleasant dinner companion at Wayfare Tavern. Light in color, moderately high in acid but really nicely balanced. Nice reminder that off vintage burgundy that's not top-of-the-tree can make lovely, accessible drinking.

A very simple but very enjoyable burgundy for this price. Red fruit like cherry and cranberry on the palate. Mild tannin but relatively high acidity, which makes it refreshing.

Tight and taut on day one with refreshing acidity, nice piercing red cherry and cranberry fruit, and a pleasing tannic grip and forest-floor stalkiness. By day two, it's softer and smoother with less bright fruit on show, but still characterful with a haunting autumnal smokiness. Simple but elegant. (£13 on special offer from Waitrose).

Medium plus nose shows dried cherry, funk, turned earth, game, black raspberry, crushed roses, reminds of NSG. Palate is fresher, sour cherry, raspberry, dried strawberry, medium tannins frame it well, light earth background but not as funky as the nose. Nice Burgundy example.

Light red. Tart, cranberry red fruit on the nose and palate with a floral note as well. Light weight and plenty of soil. I would have guessed Cru Beaujolais, say a Brouilly for example, rather than Burgundy. Nice for crisp, light drinking over the next few years.

Red cherry, hard candy (cough drop?), fine tannin, great acid but fairly firm and short

Similar to previous note but less impressive, less of the funk tones this time. Hard to find value in Burgundy, so this is still solid for the region.

Decidedly average red Burgundy. It's not bad but in no way is this worth the price it costs.
