  • This has matured nicely. A beautifully balanced, restrained, almost elegant gewurz. A bit of petrol and mineral on the nose along with hints of stone fruit; I don't pick up any floral notes. The palate is all about spice: clove, cinnamon, and more plus hints of lychee. Good acidity makes it pair well with food. Medium to full body; medium finish.

  • Tried with Chinese food; very nice but lighter than expected; good flavor though and complemented the food very well

  • Fantastic example of Gewurztraminer, as it has all the typical character but in a very subtle way...not hitting you in the face with spice.

  • Been a bit over three moths since my last bottle and my notes remain consistent. Geranium and other mixed floral notes on the nose along with light spices. Opened at 52F, warming to 55F and as expected, serving it slightly warmer allowed the wine to show more density and fruit through the middle, but toned down the acidity. Soft and round fruit through the middle with just enough acidity behind it to provide structure. Good overall balance and has the body and fruit to last a couple of years, but this is drink-now wine.

  • Floral (especially geranium) and light spices on the nose. To the light side of medium bodied, but develops some richness through the middle that makes it appear more weighty (12.5% ABV). Similar notes to the winery tasting from November 2016. Soft open fruit at first with a hint of sweetness, deepening through the middle and then some acidity driven tartness and balance on the backside. Probably need to serve it slightly colder to punch up the acidity and given a bit more time, my hope is the middle will become more expressive. Should hold at this level, but this is a wine to be drunk over the next few years. It will endure, not improve enough to justify the holding time.

  • Tasted at the winery. Classic nose of spices and floral notes. Close to medium bodied with much better overall balance than the 2013, on par with the 2012. Soft, open fruit initially with hints of sweetness, but nice tart background notes, better acidity than the 2013 and more spices notes on the finish. As compared to the 2012, this wine showed a similar flavor profile and perhaps slightly more complexity at this stage. This is an enjoyable wine for drinking over the next couple of years.
