  • Was third wine in our Christmas dinner and paired with main course of Icelandic King Salmon fillet, sautéed Baja garlic-lime shrimp, roasted potatoes, and seared asparagus. Much improved over last tasting a few years ago. More red cherry and dark rhubarb notes have emerged, and overall a better sense of balance and integration (especially when consumed with food). Drink 2023-2027. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 92.

  • Opened and decanted an hour ahead of garlic-dill grilled halibut, steamed broccoli, and wild rice for in-home Valentines Day dinner. Dark crimson color. Not much on the nose, but the palate is medium, rich, sweet, and extracted, bringing candied rhubarb, blackberry pie, cherries, nutmeg, cinnamon, oak, and lavender into a well-balanced finish. Good weight, texture, and length, but I found this wine excessively sweet for my palate. Could be in a phase but I feel like the wood over-powered the elegance of this wine. Drink 2021-2028. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score 89.
