Dense, inky and fully opaque reddish black plum color. The nose is surprisingly reticent - almost mute - with vague, light and somewhat dark-toned aromas of ripe and sweet dark berries and some toasty wood. The wine is ripe, sweet-toned and quite gentle on the palate with flavors of blackcurrant marmalade, succulent dark fruits, some overripe strawberries and a hint of vanilla. The acidity feels quite modest - even low - and the ripe tannins are very mellow and easy. The finish is soft, sweet-toned and rather short with quite noticeable alcohol heat and flabby flavors of overripe strawberries, blackcurrant marmalade, some toasty oak and a hint of vanilla.
A very generic and one-dimensional new world red with no sense of place or varietal character. The wine isn't recognizable as Tannat in any way. A boring crowdpleaser that is in no way worth the 14,39€.

Opened @ Kinjiro. Very balanced with good acidity & firm tannin. Exceeded expectation. Excellent value.
