Second bottle, same score: 90. This is a beguiling wine, and is difficult to pin down exactly why. I had the same difficulty the last time, so my previous review was just a string of descriptions with + signs between that I won't repeat here. It's not a cerebral wine, and I've got nothing more to add this time, but again it works for me! For $13 it baffles me how much I like it. It's got energy.
I preferred this 2014 over the 2015 (that's currently scoring higher on CT.)
Had it slightly chilled. Ripe plum, blackberry, tobacco and hints of oak. Round with a soft tannic structure. Rich on the palate with intense ripe blackberry, black cherry, black pepper and smoky notes. Refreshing finish.

Enjoyed it PnP right from cellar temperature: red fruit + alcohol + smoke on the nose, raspberry + blueberry flavors + acidity + minerals + lots of body, and a spicy black pepper medium finish. Great QPR.

Purple in color, semi-clear, dull; plum, cocoa, and oak on the nose; blackberry and pepper on the palate that linger into the long finish; medium(+) body; high acidity (my mouth watered a lot); underripe tannins (astringent); medium(+) alcohol; medium(+) body. Great example of a new world Syrah, but still needs more time in the bottle

Growing on me as I drink it. Jammier than I usually prefer. Smoke tinged plum and blackberry liqueur, cocoa, mashed raspberries and a little herbal hint. At sub $20, Syrah from Lodi, better than expected! Great QPR, geared towards early drinking.
I vacuvin’d half the bottle and got back to it on day 3. It picked up a smoked herb component that wasn’t there before. A bit pungent balanced by sweet fruit. I still think it’s a little clumsy in delivery, but for the money it’s darn good.

This Syrah was dark, rich and smooth, the fruit was soft and far from jammy, hints of blackberry, currants, plums and cocoa, smooth medium finish. I was surprised by the quality based on the privious notes, purchased this for a sale price of $16 in Sedona, AZ making it a decent value.

This Syrha has a chocolate dominant flavor and is very round and mouth coating. Sweet on the finish with a well balanced medium length finish.
I have had Syrah's which shut down on the finish to a dusty mouthfeel and I have had some which finish with sweetness too much. This wine is right in the middle and enjoyable. Single word ......."Mouthcoating"

A bold petite Syrah. Leather, and tan end, smoother finish after it opens up.

Easy drinker with dark purple color. Smooth tasting with a nice finish. Drank much of it stand-alone.

Klinker Brick Winery (Klinker Brick Tasting Room): 14.9% Smokey and meaty and big. I like this wine despite the alcohol because everything seems to work together. Heat shows in the finish.

I have liked this wine in past vintages but didn't like the '14... kind of sour and thin. I'll try the '15 when it's released.

Nothing inspiring or exciting about this, better on the first day. Kind of flabby thereafter. The '10 was worthy, but not this.
