Somewhere under all that sweet oak is a decent bottle of wine...Some bing cherry, chocolate, even a little caramel -- and oppressive oak and malo on the nose. Smells somewhat like a typical commercial crush pad after the barrels have been filled. Medium bodied, with black cherry, blue fruit, and more green/toasty oak on the palate. Round, medium finish. A crowd pleaser, especially for the uninitiated.

Quick 20 minute decant. Immediately drinkable with good depth (especially for a non-single vineyard), cherry fruit, firm tannins, medium-full body, and smooth finish. Very good QPR.

Striking difference from the last bottle, as buttery nose was mild and hardly noticeable. Came across as milk chocolate in this one. Wine remained smooth round, but with firm tannins. Currant, dark berries. Enjoyable wine and a good value at this price.

When first opened gave a strong, almost overwhelming nose of diacetyl. Like buttered popcorn, but with some brown sugar so goes toward caramel corn. Not sure how much ML this gets, but must be a lot for a cab. Gives the expected roundness, but may sits a bit sweet and on the simple end. There is some serious tannin for sure, but not a lot of balance. I like the wine and at this price point its a good cab, but hope the butter blows off. Will look forward to revisiting this wine down the road.

opened slowly...several years of growth still in the bottle, blue fruit on the palate and polished tannins. pleasant raspberry hints on the finish.
