  • Brilliant wine, far from ordinary. Ever-changing palate, including everything from cloves to pine needles.

  • Consistent with previous note except the pepperiness seemed so intense it left a burning sensation on the tongue. I'm not certain that this bottle was right although I couldn't say what kind of flaw this would be. Entering the palate it was as delicious as before, there was also nothing wrong on the nose but it was ending in that prickly burn on the tongue.

Edit: I think I might actually have mistaken my flawed palate (cold? Infection?) for a flaw in the wine. I had a sort of similar reaction to a different wine tonight and my company did not react the same. So my note should just say ”consistent with previous note”. Strange, I have never had this flaw to my palate before.

  • Oily, waxy, deep golden appearance. Luxurious nose of almonds, apricots, sea salt, rocks, lemon, caramel and fine sherry. I sense some violets in the background but that might just be me...Medium + acidity with great energy and bite, young but not harsh. Long aftertaste. Was a bit puzzled when I got this blind but with the bottle unveiled and more time with the glass everything started to fall in place. Don't drink Listan Blanco everyday but this wine and Envinates Palo Blanco have really got me interested.

  • XVIII Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España -Peñín; 10/23/2017-10/24/2017 (IFEMA - Madrid): From magnum. Cornucopia of well-defined aromas and among them those mineral and memories to baked corn cobs. Yummy. I remain impressed with precision and elegance. Vintage after vintage. In the mouth needs to be polished. I am surrendered to this wine. For one of the greatest Spanish whites you have to look a "little down under".

  • I really loved this. Drank like expensive Bourgogne, with a body like a Meursault. Candied lemon, a slight pepperiniess, delicious flint and smoke, a touch of oak. Tastes like it could have cost at least three times its spanish retail price of 22-23 EUR.

  • The producer claims the vineyards to be ungrafted and over 100 years old. 100% Listran Blanco. Native yeast, fermented in 500 liters neutral oak with 10 month of aging on lees. Brownish colour. The wine is rich, dry and restrained. Light nutty (sherry), oxidative style, bone dry, very long, saline, rich texture with comming and going whiff of smoke. Citrus bitter, orange peel. It is a pleasure to taste, but less to drink for longer due to high alcohol level.

  • A private lunch (Restaurant El Celler de Can Roca ***, Girona, Spain): Fresh but rounded, good ripe fruit, hint of sea breeze, lovely volvanic minerality.
