Purchased a few bottles at auction. Yellowish gold in color with a aggressive stream of small bubbles. Lovely nose of funky yeast, caramel, lemon oil, seashells, saline, honey, white flowers, and as it opens up green apples/pears develop.
High acidity, structured, a bit buttery, and plenty of lift on the tongue. Palate of pears, green apples, lemon oil, mild caramel, and mild pie crust. Long chalky finish with lemon, yeast, tart pears, saline, seashells, and some caramelized green apples. There's a buttermilk like twang at the end of the finish.
Interesting bubbly. If you are looking for light and clean, this ain't it. Funky with a decent amount of weight to it. Glad I have another bottle.

Precise slate mineral nose with a hint of fennel/anise, yeast coming in at end. Beautiful, harmonious, touch of Meyer lemon on finish, some floral sweetness.

Intriguing wine with stone, lemon, and pear. Not overly sweet. The bubbles dissipate too fast in my mind. This is not bad, but I think there are better sparkling wines for the price. I’d be much more in to it at $15 - $20 a bottle.

Bubbly at Green Street Smoked Meats (Chicago, IL): It's no champagne, but it's fairly good nonetheless. The nose shows a bit more of a sweet character, with just a slight bit of a grape juice note, but by and large, this is a fairly solid bottle of bubbly. There's a slight bit of banana here that makes me think there was a little bit of carbonic along the way, but that really doesn't make sense. Good, but I'd take Bereche Brut Reserve at this price.

Agree with some of the comments from others: citrus dominates, smooth mouthfeel, decent balance of acid and sugar levels. Not a typical champagne: little chalk and yeast but it does have caramel flan and flint. Bubbles start to flatten after 45 min. Some resid sugar. Hints of pool chlorine on finish. Finish lasts 30 sec. I agree, there are far better price points for sparkling, but this was worth the try!

Gathering w Kate, Juan, Melissa and Chewy. Didn't get to pay as much attention to the wines. From memory. 85% Pinot Blanc 15% Semillon. Indigenous yeasts and no sulfur. Citrus, minerals and a floral element. A bit of broad texture but still precise with the bubbles. Very much enjoyed this w charcuterie appetizers.

Nice yeasty chalky nose. Palate turns a bit flat and not as explosive fun as others in the D&R lineup. Fine but a bit too pricey if you compare with old world counterparts.

Fun wine. Young but tasty. The Semillion really shines through right now (both on the nose and palate) and leaves a somewhat 'tangy' finish to go with the rest of the citrusy flavors. Really starting to open up with some air. I'm digging it- good stuff Hardy!

Slight improvement. His other bottling of still wine are far superior.

Really didn’t enjoy this. Shrill acidity and no depth - sort of flat and chalky tasting. Pretty disappointing.

Interesting effort. Entirely drinkable, but they have much better efforts with other styles.

Pear, apple, lemon, fairly sweet, not too complex and very easy to drink. Fun wine, but lots of grower champagnes I'd prefer at this price point

Light notes of citrus. Well balanced, drinks smoothly, good length. Nice acid spine leads you through it.
