great value! one of the best cheep burgundys ive had, one of two good actually, the other is cuvee margot. they seem to be the exception to the rule that good burgundy has to be expensive. lots of fruit, some oak, nice acid, ok length. not complex at all but nice. will buy more!!

Garnet in color, cherries, nail polish and spice box on the nose, lean mineral driven red fruit on the palate with earthy undertones, surprisingly complex finish of tart red and black fruits and dusty tannins but quickly fades into green, stemy flavors

Medium bodied with ripe cherry and oak nose. Tart cherry, raspberry, forest floor, ferrous palate. Better on 1st day. Drink in the short term. Decent value.

Unfortunately value and Pinot Noir are not often found in the same sentence. At its best, the Pinot Noir grape can yield wonderful results. When its not grown properly under the best conditions, the results can be disastrous. As a result, most of the great and even plain old good Pinot Noirs tend to be rather expensive. This effort from Albert Bichot is an exception to the rule. It is s a very nice Pinot Noir.
In your glass you get a pretty medium red color. The nose is filled with strawberry and sweet cherry aromas with a pleasant herbal undertone. In your mouth you get a very nice light-medium body with a little bit more to it than most California and Oregon Pinot Noirs. The fruit flavors are outstanding with great sweet cherry, sour cherry, and strawberry. Pleasant acidity and mild tannins provide balance and structure. Very nice for a retail price around $15.
This wine would make a great, not too expensive pairing for a Thanksgiving turkey. I might make some native Burgundians upset with this, but I love Burgundy with pizza. This wine is pretty flexible. It would also pair nicely with salmon, pork, or duck among other things.

Light purplish color. Lots of fresh fruit. The oak is present but not at all excessive. Plenty of acidity. Not terribly complex; but it opens up nicely in the glass revealing more character. This stuff has potential, but it needs to lose the "baby fat".

This is 60% old vine and the average age is 30-40 years old. 15% oak, new and old oak mixed. The oak is used to give a bit of structure. And this is from everywhere in Burgundy. Macon, Chalonaise, everywhere.
Fruity, and bit animal and leafy. Not bad for $14 or so.

This has really improved in the 2+ years since my other tasting. It has grown deeper and more intense. Nice bottle. Ready to drink now.

Easy drinking. Good raspberry fruit. Some vanilla on finish. Developed some herbal notes on nose on second night.

Simple arômes de fraises et de cerises. Léger mais à la chance d'être dans un bon millésime.
