Dusty cocoa with bright purple and black fruit. Hints of spices on the finish. A bit closed up as well. Opened up quite nicely with waves of plum and cocoa. Likely a medium term upside to further ageing.

Not decanted, consumed over 2-3 hours. I noted a little ripe fruit up front, but it dissipated over the first half hour and this turned dryer and darker, dense but not very generous, particularly on the nose. Hints of currants and dark berries, but moreso cherry pit, charred veggies, a little cocoa. Nice acid/tannin structure. Well-made and fairly priced, although not a style I'd gravitate towards, and I'm not sure what aging holds in store for this.

Very interesting wine, clearly well-made, The 50-50 balance is really important here, tames the Tannat, while still leaving plenty of backbone and tannins. 2 hrs air was just about right. Not as balanced the 2nd day.

Classic (Tannat + Merlot) blend, showcases the blackberry/cassis color and structure of Tannat, enhanced by the freshness and sweet-berry flavors of Merlot, resulting in a flavorful, hearty palate while remaining relatively light and versatile, as typical in Southwest France's Madiran and Gascogne regions. Great value as well.

Took a few minutes to open, but was nicely fruity and flowery with a solid backbone of acidity and tannin.

Very nice wine for $$. Red berries on nose. Cassis, cherries and spices in palate. Medium body with medium to long finish.
