Late night drop-off drink. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Was guessing Poggio di Sotto Brunello, but unsure of the vintage. Felt fresh but warm vintage. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red licorice, red cherry fruits, red plums, slight kirsch red candy with more air. Develping. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), silky medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red licorice, sweet red plums, sticky sour red cherries, sweet spices, dusty Tuscan dirt earth background. Very long finish with lots of grip but finesse. Very good quality. Ageing along well. Many years to go.

Drikk opp.

Really pretty and floral tones, with additional dollops of bright red cherry, and herbs, and a touch of sweetness. Lighter than other vintages but still enjoyable; probably not as structured as PdS's best vintages but refreshing and fresh today.

Didn’t disappoint. Out-classed the Amoureuses 2011 with ease. Lovely core of brilliant bright fruit, velvet illy texture, balance.. it has it all. WOTN in my opinion, outclassing GB Burlotto MONVIG 2014 but a length

Attractive fresh nose of sweet dark red cherries, mint, perfuming flowers, and a touch smoked wood. Palate is fairly symmetrical with a rusty appealing acidity and sweet fruit. Finish is a bit short with a tinge of sweet tannins.
A PdS to be enjoyed young; quite good now but limited upside

Deep ruby. Black berries with a topping of Raspberries and a side of quince. Background sauvage. Mid weight on the palate and brooding. Medium tannins. Enjoyable.

Poggio di Sotto is one of my favourite Brunello do Montalcino, it is incredibly elegant and delicate for a Brunello di Montalcino, one might even say Poggio di Sotto makes the most “Burgundian” Brunello. Tasted blind - Fragrant crunchy red fruits, clean meaty nose with chirpy oak spices. Polished, Burgundian, Pinot noir bouquet with delicate rose petals. Flamboyant nose. 2011? No idea what this could be.. Mount Etna? 89/100
Rich, vivid, structured, and well-balanced, this offers a medium+ body, with plenty of soil up front, and red/dark red fruit just behind. Good+ complexity, depth; likely to add some breadth (and more depth) in the coming years. It's a bit too much for me at this stage, but in 4-5 years, the balance and focus will likely have this showing as a much more complete wine; good, but not cohesive this moment. Some nice orange spice, herb and tobacco notes that constantly weave about. No harm in opening one now, but you'll be missing some of the prettier fireworks if you do. Finishes long, with good sapidity. recommended
Flott struktur her altså!
Det er noe med de tradisjonelle og klassiske Brunelloene. Dette vil følgelig bli enda bedre med litt tid, men jeg synes den allerede er veldig bra, og balansen er allerede fin – 13,5 % alkohol gjør vinen godt altså. 94-95 poeng.
