  • Medium body, strong nose, the oak feel integraded and nice tannins. What I did not find was complexity and more pleasant finish. It should be better down the road or this bottle was not at best since the cork was red all over.

  • Last stop on our fourth day in Napa Valley is Caldwell Vineyards in Coombsville. Fourth wine is their Silver Proprietary Red from their Signature Collection. This bottling is made up of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Carménère and 1% Syrah from the Caldwell Estate Vineyard in Coombsville. Aged for a total of 20 months in 100% new French oak. Only 259 cases produced.

Dark ruby red. Baking spices on the attack of the nose with some dark raspberries and a touch of blue fruit. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) with a medium plus body. A bit of bark on the palate, light brown sugar, blue and black fruit, baking spices and a bit spicy too. Dry and long finish. Drink 2028.
