Rustic, plummy, medicinal. Not great. Had this a couple of years ago and enjoyed it more.
I corked half the bottle and put it in the fridge overnight. Just had another glass and it’s settled down. Much better. Lost the plum and the medicinal qualities. Makes me think that bottle age will sort this out. Tastes like decent although darker fruited pinot noir.

2015 Bourgogne AC blind (Chicago, IL): Served single blind. Knowing that the house style has shifted dramatically recently, I at least knew I wasn't on the look out for a dense tannic beast of a wine. Mostly, this was a simplistic wine, with a bit of cherry candy on the nose. The palate was a bit thin as well, and despite there being acidity, this felt a little heavy and dulled.

Pnp, black cherries, cassis, medium weight, fine and pure. Already pleasant but will for sure develop within the next years. I was curious to have a first impression from the bottle. Christian Gouges told us that the domaine started early with the harvest 2015 in order to avoid heavy notes and too alcoholic wines. I think they did well.

A bit dark and brooding, notes of reduction to go with a cranberry, dark cherry, tea with a ethereal and mineral finish. Ripe but not jammy and notable structure for Bourgogne with medium plus body. Really hit it's stride at 2 hr. Fairly open for Gouges. Drink over next several years. Very good Bourgogne.

Mainly darker pinot fruit (black currant), a nice salinity, a certain freshness. The wine has well developed over the years. Good now, can go on.

Mainly red fruit, pure, decent acidity, a wine which has been collected early in this warm year, quite light.

A mix of red, blue and black fruit, mostly black cherries and cassis, pure, good stuff, drinking very well now.

Decent earthiness with slightly dark fruit. Some herb and pine on the nose. Drinks nicely for a bourgogne.
