pretty nice bottle of wine, when poured it was more golden than yellow (which worried me, cuz I like lifted / acidic / bright chardonnay, when tasted it had those qualities but also a slug of sweetness... just a little too much for me but my wife liked it -- called it very smooth (and she hates any oxidation in chard's, and is not a fan of 'richness', so she agreed this isn't mox'd or too old for us, simply a little sweet for my tastes)... I would drink up now / soon

Everything I like about big California Chardonnay and nothing I don’t. Lots of lemon curd, lemon zest, wet stones. Medium to full bodied, with just the slightest kiss of oak, no butter, and mouth watering acidity. Perfect balance. Superlative wine. 95 may be low.

Absolutely delicious! Great acidity with a long finish. Almonds, lemon squares and some subtle spices to give it nice complexity. Nice round mouthfeel.

Completely agree, a pleasure to drink. Citrus, vanilla, apple on the nose and palate. It's got good acidity but has more body to it than lean, steely Chardonnays likely due to the warmer climate of Sonoma, CA. The finish is clean and has some length to it. Paired with G&M Baltimore crab cakes and we had trouble slowing down on this one. 92-94.

Wow! This is the second time I have had the 2015 Stone Flat and it is such a pleasure to drink. Vanilla and lemon-lime on the nose and palate. Good acidity. A finish that goes on forever. This is what new world Chardonnay should be.

The 2015 Kistler Stone Flat is a delightful wine that is very Chablis in nature. Look elsewhere if you are seeking a traditional big oaky California Chardonnay. The Stone Flat has a delicate bouquet of vanilla, citrus, and mint. Peach and key lime pie flavors follow on the palate. The finish has great acidity and salinity.

This tight and lean Chardonnay is drinking well right now, though it needs a good hour of air to blossom. Light yellow in color, medium in body, nose of green apple, grapefruit, and saline. Chiseled tastes of lemon peel, peach, stone fruit, and almond, with a zippy finish. 14.1% alcohol.
This will surely be better in another 6-12 months, after it puts on a bit more weight, but it’s a refreshing wine to drink at the moment. I can't recommend decanting highly enough, since this tasted disjointed and sour right after opening. It's somewhere between modern CA Chardonnay and Chablis - a very good place to be in my book.

@ Kistler Vineyards. This was probably our least favourite of all the Kistler wines tried. The Stone Flat vineyard is more porus than any other of the Kistler vineyards. Good amount of acidity and citrus notes. Very Chablis like.

We popped open this bottle with a friend after a 4+ hour lunch at Joey's Place aka Robuchon Hong Kong. We wanted white, the last Bordeaux red had long since been sipped, but we knew we needed some size. Et voila, a fresh, vibrant Kistler Chardonnay to the rescue!
Bright, inviting greenish yellow on the eye. Friendly, if no passionate. Bouquet of fresh tropical fruit with hints of coconuts and pineapple. Seductive songs of the Caribbean playing in the background as the wind blows through the palm trees and we slumber on our hammock...ooops, just a dream, but a very nice one! Palate demonstrates the statuesque body we were seeking with powerful tropical and citrus fruits blended nicely with vanilla-cream, toasted almonds and a salaciously long finish. Oh my ears and whiskers...clearly barely legal, but pleased as punch we tasted now. The balance will wait in the cellar a few more years...we are looking forward to the event!

Bay Area Wine Tour; 1/11/2019-1/15/2019 (Bay Area, CA): Rich passionfruit and warm ripe fruit nose with mineral core. Great acid base, stony mineral, very long finish. American Smarties. Juicy, almost sweet. Wow.

The reason the other poster does not like it is the reason that I loved it. Chats that drinks like a Chablis. Winner, winner. Loved it.
