This is a yummy cab with black plum fruit, spice, earth, good acidity, very light tannins and a long full finish. The wine is quite dry and has a good smooth mouthfeel.

Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of currants, dark plums, tar and black cherries. Flavors of black cherries, plums and raspberries. Medium acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with some air.

Nose of charcoal, oak, and black walnut. Tart and tannic. Concentration of cherries, raspberry, with dried basil, and truffle. A earthy mineral mouth drying finish. 93+ points

Decanted for 90 min before opening. I’m quite inexperienced with big California cabernets so was looking forward to trying a representative example.
Wine is deep purple. Smoke on the water. No clear rim. Super opaque. Night eater.
It looks great, but there’s a touch of pyrazine on the nose, which is pretty much a deal killer for me and my wife. This is disappointing because there’s some nice stuff underneath, including dried cherry and pepper.
The wine is better on the palate than the nose. But there is lots of oak, of the vanilloid variety. Medium tannins, medium acid. Medium length finish. High alcohol, high extraction. Blackberries, blueberry on palate really come out.
Maybe the pyrazine will blow off? Do GMs fade with age? Either way, I’m not into it. It’s quite clearly a very well structured wine with high quality fruit, but I just cannot wrap my mind around this style. That’s probably a good thing for the pocketbook.
Put it aside after one glass. Let’s try again tomorrow.

At the Healdsburg Tasting Room with the friendly, knowledgeable staff, WOW-what a surprise but at the $100 price point, nose of black berry, baked berry tart, and roasted meat, same on the palate, very tasty, almost delicious, soft tannins need five years cellar time, mouth filling fruit, and a long, long finish, probably merit a higher score with cellar time.

Post hoc tasting note. I did not like this. Shockingly, DW really did. Can't really comment on the wine at this point.
Feel free to mark as "unhelpful". I can take it.
