Totally gorgeous chianti classico. Enjoyed on early afternoon BBQ, this was ready straight after decanting. Advanced colour and aromas just past after the early fruity stage, a bit of pyrazine action and a touch of funky aromas, very playful in the mouth and so thirst quenching, went really fast. Alcohol level of 12.5% is quite impressive for that vintage, they must have picked up quite early. Overall, tasty and seductively easy drinking.

Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of red berries and red cherries that both carry straight through to the palate. Medium to bright acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short term. Next couple of years.

Great QPR although I paid just over $20 in Italy whatever wine-searcher shows. Much better than the average score indicates. 2015 such a good year. I will buy more.

Babywine and a teenager at the same time. This wine still still very young and feels like a baby. It jumps right to become a teenager who seems to have decided that sour lemons is the only thing to consume, yet as soon as you see the smile you realise this will become a wonderful person. This wine has an acidity that shows this wine needs a few more years to mellow, yet the fruit is there in the background just waiting to break through the acidity. #ama #chianticlassico #castellodiama #italia #italy #chianti #toscana #tuscany #sangiovese #wbssangiovese #merlot #wbsmerlot #redwine #oldworld #instawine

Clear deep-ruby color. Aromas and flavors of black cherry, orange zest, star anise, damp earth and paprika. Juicy and succulent fruit on the palate, with subtle savory and bitter secondary depth. Bright acid, medium to high, medium-bodied with fleshy tannins. Mouthwatering finish, moderate length. Nicely done, excellent QPR.

Tasting, brief note. Spice-driven start followed by red cherry and berry alongside emerging earth. Some tannins nicely support the finish. Probably better in a year, but good to enjoy now through 2022ish.

Refined and pure, delicious with its fruity aromas and spices in that balanced and precise “Castello di Ama style” Sabgiovese 96% Merlot4%, vinification in stainless steel tanks, with maturation in second passage oak barrels.

Crimson. Nice aromas of red cherries and herbs. Very smooth entry with red cherries, carrying through to spice and with a silky finish.

Ein Blick in die Vergangenheit, nur 12,5 % Alkohol, fein, elegant, frisch, so waren Chianti es in den Neunzigern und das war keine schlechte Zeit

A touch of TCA... anyway this is lighter, rounder face of Chianti (4pct Melrot) and nicely low alco - 12.5. Could be beautiful...

Good Chianti. Smooth tannin, strong oak on the nose but not on the palate. Nice balance of acid and fruit: bight cherries.

A quite good Chianti for medium long cellering. Not so strong tannins so good to drink already. Interesting producer. 88-89p

Italy vacation Part 1; 10/22/2017-11/5/2017 (Florence and the Tuscan countryside): Light to medium ruby; highly aromatic, strawberry, ripe but balanced; palate is light bodied, red strawberry, slight spice; short finish. Reminds me of a balanced new world Pinot noir. 86
